AncestryK12 Grant Terms and Conditions

October 13, 2014

Thank you for your interest in an AncestryK12 grant. Each day, users of the Ancestry family of websites utilize our historical records to discover and research their family histories, and AncestryK12’s goal is to help students discover, preserve and share their family history. If your classroom, school, and/or school district are awarded an AncestryK12 grant, your students will be able to access classroom versions of Ancestry, Fold3, and Newspapers.com, onsite from computers within the IP ranges you specify in your application, by visiting https://www.ancestryclassroom.com, http://www.fold3.com/, or http://www.newspapers.com/ (the “Grant Websites”).

Below are the terms and conditions (the “Agreement”) that you must read and accept before applying for, being considered for, and being awarded an AncestryK12 grant, and accessing the Grant Websites provided under the AncestryK12 grant. By submitting an AncestryK12 grant application through the AncestryK12 website, you are legally bound by this Agreement, which is between you and Ancestry.com Operations Inc. (“Ancestry”), which operates AncestryK12 and the Grant Websites. You hereby agree to the following terms:

You will comply with all applicable laws, grant requirements, and any other restrictions or rules that we may publish or otherwise communicate to you at any time.

All access to the classroom versions of Ancestry.com, Fold3, and/or Newspapers.com provided under an AncestryK12 grant must be done solely on-campus; no remote access is allowed.

All access is subject to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Statements located on each of the Grant Websites.

You acknowledge that you, your school, and/or your school district will be held responsible for any misuse of the AncestryK12 services or improper access to the AncestryK12 Grant Websites.

If you are a school administrator, teacher, or otherwise part of an educational setting and you intend to have students utilize the AncestryK12 services and the online content provided under an AncestryK12 grant, you agree to take all necessary actions to comply with applicable student privacy laws, including, but not limited to, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). As part of these requirements, you must prohibit all students with access to the AncestryK12 grant content from creating user accounts on Ancestry.com, Fold3.com, or Newspapers.com. If any student is interested in signing up for accounts and gaining access to non-classroom versions of the Grant Websites, the student’s parent or guardian must be the person that sets up any such accounts.

AncestryK12 has the right to suspend or terminate any grant if we, in our sole discretion, believe that the grant recipient is in violation of any applicable laws or any grant requirements, guidelines or restrictions, including, but not limited to, the Terms and Conditions of any of the Grant Websites or the access limitations described above.

Ancestry has the right, at its sole discretion, to modify this Agreement, as well as the Grant Websites, at any time. Changes will be posted to the relevant Grant Website(s) or the AncestryK12 website and/or sent to you via email, and by changing the date of last revision on this Agreement. If any portion of this Agreement or any changes to the Grant Websites is unacceptable to you or will cause you to no longer be in compliance with this Agreement, you must immediately notify us and we will terminate your grant. Continued use of the Grant Websites now or following posted notices of changes to this Agreement means you have accepted and agree to be bound by the changes.
