AncestryClassroom Grant Terms and Conditions

April 20, 2022

Thank you for your interest in an AncestryClassroom™ Program (the 'Program'). Each day, users of the Ancestry® family of websites utilize our historical records to discover and research their family histories, and the goal of AncestryClassroom™ is to help students discover, preserve and share their own family history. If your school or school district are granted access to this Program, your students will be able to access classroom versions of Ancestry®, Fold3®, and Newspapers.com™ Basic, from computers within the IP ranges you specify in your application, by visiting https://www.ancestryclassroom.com, https://www.ancestryclassroom.com.au, https://www.ancestryclassroom.co.uk, http://www.fold3.com/, and http://www.newspapers.com/ (the “Program Websites”).

Below are the terms and conditions (the “Agreement”) that you must read and agree to before applying for, being considered for, and being awarded access to the Program Websites provided under the Program. By submitting a Program application through the AncestryClassroom website, you are agreeing that you are legally bound by this Agreement, which is between you and Ancestry.com Operations L.P. (“Ancestry”), which operates AncestryClassroom and the Program Websites. You hereby agree to the following terms:

You will comply with all applicable laws, Program requirements, and any other restrictions or rules that we may publish or otherwise communicate to you at any time.

All access to the classroom versions of the Program Websites provided under the AncestryClassroom Program must be done solely via the school's network, within the approved IP address range.

All access is subject to the Ancestry Terms and Conditions and Privacy Statement, which are applicable to the Program Websites.

You acknowledge that you, your school, and/or your school district will be held responsible for any misuse of the AncestryClassroom™ services or improper access to the Program Websites.

If you are a school administrator, teacher, or otherwise part of an educational setting and you intend to have students utilize the AncestryClassroom™ services and the online content provided under the AncestryClassroom™ Program, you agree to take all necessary actions to comply with applicable student privacy laws, including, but not limited to, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). As part of these requirements, you must prohibit all students with access to the AncestryClassroom™ Program content from creating user accounts on Ancestry.com, Fold3.com, Newspapers.com, or any other Ancestry websites. If any student is interested in signing up for an account and gaining access to non-classroom versions of the Program Websites, the student’s parent or guardian must be the person that sets up any such accounts.

Ancestry has the right to suspend or terminate access to the AncestryClassroom™ Program, or any associated Ancestry, Fold3 or Newspapers.com™ accounts if we, in our sole discretion, believe that the recipient is in violation of any applicable laws or any Program requirements, guidelines or restrictions, including, but not limited to, the Ancestry Terms and Conditions or the access limitations described herein.

Ancestry has the right, at its sole discretion, to modify this Agreement or the Program Websites, at any time. Information regarding new classroom resources, enhancements and changes will be posted to the relevant Program Website(s) and/or sent to you via email. Ancestry may contact you via email about the AncestryClassroom™ Program, to gather teacher feedback, to improve your experience, etc. no more than four (4) times per year. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time by emailing [email protected]. If you choose to unsubscribe, you will still receive account-related communications including security and legal information. If any portion of this Agreement or any changes to the Program Websites is unacceptable to you or will cause you to no longer be in compliance with this Agreement, you must immediately notify us and we will terminate your access to the Program. Continued use of the Program Websites now or following posted notices of changes to this Agreement means you have accepted and agree to be bound by the changes.

Upon receiving access to the AncestryClassroom™ Program, the Program will automatically renew every three (3) years. You may cancel your access to the AncestryClassroom™ Program at any time by emailing [email protected]
